I know that I've made plenty of my own spelling and punctuation mistakes, but I am definitely a word nerd. Spelling and grammar errors seem to have a life of their own and (literally) jump off the page at me. Many, many times I've wanted to take a red pen to the books I've read and then send them back to the editors. In fact I found a little gem today in my copy of The Pillars Of The Earth by Ken Follett -- "I'll" printed as "I'11."
