(Bump) Newborn Screening for CF

Remember when I wrote this post?

This is even better than that. As of 2010,
all fifty states are going to screen newborns for Cystic Fibrosis.

Research continually shows that newborn screening for CF improves and extends the lives of those born with the disease. Early diagnosis allows affected infants to begin therapeutic interventions immediately. I was diagnosed at five months of age, but so many go undiagnosed for years (my cousin, B. was fourteen when she was diagnosed). This is a huge (as Kel would say, YOOOOOGE) step forward for all of the CF community.
