Flash Me Friday

Well, I must admit that I have not done a great job at keeping up with Flash Me! Fridays (the brainchild of Jen over at The Groettum Family blog) but once I saw this week's flash, I knew I had to participate.

This week's flash: What's your favorite piece of art in your home?

This was a HARD decision because I have tons of art on every wall in my home and I love, love, love every piece. But if I had to give a nod to one particular piece, I think it would go to this one:

My grandmother had this painting commissioned by a local artist in Wilmington, NC.  It was a birthday present that she and my grandfather gave me about six or seven years ago.  I cherish it because, in one quick glance I can relive the many, many years I spent in a leotard & a pair of ballet slippers.  Dance was (is) life!!! I don't dance as often as I used to, but I'm fortunate in the fact that the Alabama School of Ballet has a great selection of adult classes to keep my feet busy.

Fall 09 - Pictures

These are a few pictures from our quick trip to Knoxville, TN last weekend. We went up to see my cousin and his wife, their new house and celebrate their birthdays.


Like all trips, it wasn't long enough. I can't wait to go again!

Mad Men

My cousin, L posted this on her blog and I find myself desperately in need of something to pass the time. Without further adieu, may I present myself:


if I were to ever be on Mad Men. Which is a show I haven't actually watched, but I've heard a lot about (a la The Soup).

BBVA's got it covered!

In light of this recent article, where the WHO raised the H1N1 (Swine) flu to a Level 6 pandemic, BBVA issued the following in our latest shipment. Everybody in my group is now the proud owner of their own personal supply of Purell.

Great Strides 2009 - Walk Pictures

Even though it was rainy and wet, our 2009 Great Strides event was a success. We had a great turnout of close to 300 people this year.

Our total raised this year is a little over $126,000. The UAB Adult CF Team turned in over $6000 this year (I am waiting for our final totals and will post soon).

Thanks to all of my team members this year (you know who you are!). You guys did a fantabulous job in helping bring awareness to CF.

My 4th folder is appropriately titled, "CrAzY nIgHtS" and is a mess of pics that we've taken on our many nights out and around Birmingham.

So, this is what happens when you let the tall people take pictures! This is from a random night out at Twist & Shout with Rachael, Angela, Brien and I. You can tell this is during the summer because my hair is blonde. And I think you can still see a hint of the blue that I had in it earlier this year (had to lose that when I moved to Corporate!).
